It all began on a kitchen windowsill, where a single aloe vera plant inspired a lifelong passion. Our founder, Jess F. Clarke Jr., first discovered aloe’s healing power as a child when his mother, Evelyn, used its soothing gel to treat everyday cuts and burns. That moment sparked a journey rooted in nature and driven by purpose. In the 1970s, Jess collaborated with the renowned Dr. Collins’ Aloe Vera Ointment Company—originating from the Manhattan Project—to help expand access to aloe-based healing through mail-order delivery. He believed aloe was nature’s gift to support healing, hydration, and overall well-being.
After working with a small aloe company in 1981, Jess launched Miracle of Aloe in Westport, Connecticut. With input from his parents, he created formulas that brought real relief to real people—especially seniors—making it easier to enjoy life with less pain and more comfort. The early days were tough, but word-of-mouth grew quickly as customers began experiencing real, natural results. By the mid-1980s, Jess’s son JC joined the business as its second full-time employee. Together, father and son expanded the company into what it is today—a trusted, family-owned brand offering over 20 aloe-powered health, beauty, and skincare products. Now headquartered in Coppell, TX, with operations in Florida, Miracle of Aloe continues to pioneer effective aloe vera solutions using our proprietary UltraAloe® process—scientifically enhanced for maximum potency and purity. We’re proud to carry on the Clarke family’s mission: delivering safe, affordable, and effective self-care products to people everywhere. Through The Clarke Family Foundation and our membership in the International Aloe Science Council, we remain at the forefront of aloe innovation—still family-run, still focused on healing, and still inspired by that little plant on a windowsill.
